McLaughlin Stauffer & Shaklee, P.C. has experience representing a broad range of private clients and public entities throughout the State and particulary in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties.  


In the 1970's, Firm attorneys began their long tradition of representing public bodies in numerous capacities such as Municipal Attorney, Labor Counsel, Municipal Prosecutor, Bond Counsel, and General Counsel to local planning boards and to local independent authorities.

The Department Chairman, Roger J. McLaughlin has been rated a "Super Lawyer in Municipal Law" by New Jersey Monthly Magazine and is a recognized authority in the field.


Richard J. Shaklee had obtained the prestigious Diplomate in New Jersey Municipal Law advanced law certification program, which is administered by Rutgers University and is recognized by the New Jersey Supreme Court.  The extensive practical experience of the Municipal/Public Finance Department, combined with the ongoing experience of our attorneys, ensures that our clients benefit from the very latest in legal developments.


Drew A. Stauffer, Chairman of the Public Finance Department, is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He has represented municipalities and school districts as bond counsel in the issuance of general obligation and refunding bonds and has assisted clients in financings through the New Jersey Environmental Authority and the Monmouth County Improvement Authority.  Mr. Stauffer has also served as bond counsel to various utility authorities in connection with the issuance of revenue bonds and is familiar with the procedures necessary for the dissolution of local authorities.
